BEACHWOOD

At the Beechwood Residence, in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, the garden of a Spanish-style home is given a fresh, modern make over, while materials echo the more traditional roots of the house.

A dining terrace extends from the house into the back yard where it steps down to a living space organized around a new fireplace.  Active play space for the children capitalizes on flexibility without compromising the refined, clean design.  The newly renovated pool was improved by demolishing a portion of the garage, thus creating a sensuous relaxation area complete with a small bar and an outdoor pool bathroom.
